If you’re a peanut butter chocolate lover, this magic shell yogurt is about to become your go-to. It’s a high protein dessert or snack (or maybe even breakfast, no judgment) that tastes indulgent but is actually just Greek yogurt, peanut butter, a little sweetener, crushed cookies, and a thin chocolate shell. The absolute best part of this dish (besides how it tastes) is that you get to crack into with a spoon. It comes together in about 5 minutes of prep time, with the hardest part being the wait time for the shell to harden.
This is the recipe I reach for when I want something that feels like dessert but doesn’t derail the day. It’s creamy, crunchy, chocolatey, and genuinely fun to eat because of that satisfying crack when you break through the shell.
A note on peanut powder: I like using powdered peanut butter here because it blends smoothly into the yogurt with no streaks and keeps the texture light. Regular peanut butter works too, just stir it in well.
A note on cookies: Oreo Thins are my pick because they crumble finely and keep the layer thin, but regular Oreos, any cookie you like, or graham crackers all work great as the filling.
In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, peanut powder (or peanut butter), and honey until well combined. Taste and add more sweetener if you’d like it sweeter. Fold in the crumbled cookies.
Pour the melted chocolate over the top and use a spoon or spatula to spread it into a thin, even layer. Sprinkle with crushed peanuts.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best texture.
Keep covered in the fridge for up to 2 days. The chocolate shell stays crackable, though it softens slightly the longer it sits.
