Ribeye Steak Recipe Card Pan-Seared Ribeye Steak with Garlic Butter

Juicy ribeye steaks seared in a cast iron pan, basted with garlic butter, and finished with flaky salt. A steakhouse-quality dinner at home.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ribeye steaks room temperature and blotted dry
  • 4 tbsp avocado oil or neutral oil with high smoke point
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 4 rosemary sprigs or herbs of choice
  • 10 garlic cloves smashed and peeled
  • 2 tsp flaky salt

Seasoning

  • 4 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Bring steaks to room temperature, blot dry, and season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large pan over medium-high. Place steaks gently in pan, pressing lightly for even browning. Cook 1 minute.
  • Flip and cook the other side 1 minute. Continue flipping every minute until steaks are 10°F below target doneness.
  • Reduce heat to low, add butter, garlic, and herbs. Baste steaks until they reach your desired cook temperature.
  • Remove steaks from pan and rest 5–10 minutes.
  • Drizzle with pan sauce, garnish with flaky salt, and serve.
