3/4cupneutral oil canola, vegetable, or avocado oil work well
1tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
1tbsp Korean red pepper flakes ("gochu garu")
1tbsp minced garlic(about 3 cloves)
1tspsugar
1tsp sesame seeds
1cinnamon stick
1bay leaf
1star anise *optional

Instructions
Add oil and aromatics (cinnamon stick, bay leaf, and star anise) to a pan and allow to cook under medium-low heat for about 10 minutes
Add the remaining ingredients to a heat safe bowl then slowly pour in your oil a little bit at a time. Be very careful not to pour too much oil into the bowl at once or it may overflow.
Once the chili oil has cooled, store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to several months.
