Bacon Wrapped Dates with Boursin Cheese

Equipment

  • 1 large baking pan
  • Foil, parchment paper, or silicon baking mat for easy clean up
  • 18 toothpicks

Ingredients
  

  • 9 slices bacon sliced in half lengthwise for a total of 18 slices
  • 18 medjool dates
  • 18 almonds
  • 2.5 oz Boursin cheese Shallot and Chive variety

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Use a small pairing knife to make a slit along the medjool date lengthwise. Remove the pit and replace it with an almond.
  • Smear a small dab (about 1/2 tsp) of Boursin cheese into the slit and wrap the date in the bacon. Insert a toothpick through the center of the date to hold everything together.
  • Bake for 10 minutes then flip and cook for an additional 6 to 8 minutes until bacon is fully cooked.
  • Place the cooked bacon wrapped dates on paper towels to drain any additional fat then set on a platter to serve.
